This powder coating production line is specifically designed for applying high-quality powder finishes to cold rolled steel plates. The spray booth is constructed from durable PVC, offering excellent chemical resistance and easy maintenance. The coating process combines automatic electrostatic powder spraying with supplementary manual spraying, ensuring complete coverage even on complex edges or large flat surfaces.
Material handling is achieved through an overhead conveyor system, providing smooth, stable, and continuous transport of workpieces throughout the process.
Manual loading → Automatic spraying + manual touch-up spraying → Powder curing → Natural cooling → Manual unloading
The first step in the coating process is properly preparing the surface of the cold rolled steel plates.
This may include:
Cleaning to remove dust and residues
Degreasing to eliminate oils
Mechanical or chemical treatment if required by the customer
Effective surface preparation ensures strong adhesion and long-term durability of the powder coating.
For improved corrosion resistance and enhanced bonding, a pre-treatment process may be applied.
Common options include:
Phosphating
Iron phosphate conversion coating
Other chemical conditioning treatments
Pre-treatment ensures that the steel plates achieve consistent, high-performance coating results, especially for applications requiring increased durability.
After cleaning or pre-treatment, the steel plates pass through a drying section to eliminate moisture completely.
Dry surfaces are essential to prevent coating defects and ensure uniform powder adhesion.
Once dried, the plates enter the PVC spray booth for coating.
Key features include:
Automatic electrostatic spray guns for efficient, uniform powder distribution
Manual touch-up stations to ensure complete edge and corner coverage
Controlled airflow inside the booth to reduce powder loss
Electrostatically charged powder particles adhere evenly to the grounded metal surfaces.
The coated plates move into the curing oven, where the powder undergoes a thermal curing process:
Powder particles melt, flow, and form a continuous film
Chemical cross-linking occurs to create a hard, durable coating
Proper curing results in excellent mechanical resistance, adhesion, and long-term surface protection.
After exiting the curing oven, the steel plates enter a natural cooling zone.
Cooling stabilizes the coating film and ensures the finished plates retain optimal surface quality.
Finally, the coated plates are inspected to ensure:
Correct coating thickness
Smooth and even surface appearance
Strong adhesion
No defects such as pinholes, orange peel, or contamination
This ensures each finished product meets the required performance and aesthetic standards.
